These frozen yoghurt berry bites are an amazing competition to the shop bought ice lollies and ice cream. Plus they are so healthy and satisfying to make! I got the inspiration form here and adapted the recipe to go with the 5-element method.
Frozen yoghurt berry bites made with 5 Elements
It is really worth adding all the spices I proposed. They significantly improve the flavour. If you ever feel that your cooking lacks flavour but are not sure what to do to change it, use the 5-element cooking method of adding all five flavours into the food and you will notice the difference. Also, children learn how different spices work and when to add them so that in the future they are not fussy with new foods and ingredients any more.
What you will need
An ice cube mould. I used a standard one which came with the fridge. If you have a fancy-shaped one, your berry bites will be even more attractive.
Berry fruits, like blueberries, raspberries and strawberries. Feel free to add any other fruit you have access to, like cherries, gooseberries or blackcurrants.
The spiced yoghurt prep
In a medium-sized mixing bowl add the following:
- Sour 4-5 tablespoons of thick yoghurt,
- Bitter a pinch of turmeric,
- Sweet 2-3 teaspoons of sugar,
- Pungent a pinch og ginger,
- Salty a pinch of salt.
Stir the mixture and set aside.
The fruit and the yoghurt
Arrange your fruit in the ice cube mould and fill them up with your spiced yoghurt. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours. Take them out of the mould and serve immediately.
