Tiramisu plus Truffles – a perfect dessert combination!
If you like tiramisu but the process seems a bit lengthy, take a look at these amazing Tiramisu Truffles. The recipe combines two probably most delicious sweets: classic Italian tiramisu and the most elegant and appealing truffles. Tiramisu Truffles are so straightforward that nothing can go wrong. Plus there is no cooking involved. I got the inspiration from MyFooday blog post. As usual, I added 5 Elements to it and created something like this for you.
The preparation
Blend 150-170g of ladyfingers until you get fine powder. Beat the white of 1 small egg with 1 tablespoon of sugar until soft peaks. Depending on how much sugar your lady fingers contain (mine had quite a lot) you might need to increase the amount of sugar added to the egg white. Prepare an espresso or moka (mocha) and set aside until cold.
The procedure
In a large mixing bowl add the following ingredients:
- Bitter 3 tablespoons of coffee, 1 tablespoon of whisky,
- Sweet 125g mascarpone, powdered lady fingers, mix all the ingredients until they combine; gently fold in the whisked egg white and add
- Pungent a pinch of ginger,
- Salty a pinch of fine salt,
- Sour a few drops of lemon juice.
Stir the dough until smooth. If the dough seems to loose and runny add some more of the lady fingers powder.
With damp palms shape truffle balls. You aim more or less at the size of Raffaello sweets. Add some cocoa to a flat plate and roll each Tiramisu Truffle in it until well-coated. Do not be afraid to be generous with the cocoa. The bitterness of cocoa will be balanced by the sweetness of lady fingers.
Tiramisu Truffles will go perfectly with Irish coffee or black tea with lemons preserved in honey.
